Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

U2 fans in the NY area:

U2log.com has confirmed with a source that the secret show in New York City will take place at Washington Square Park on Monday (Nov. 22) afternoon. Based on the information our source provided, we recommend that fans arrive between 1:00 and 1:30 pm. The show may begin as early as 1:00, but more likely between 2:00 and 3:00. This is no BS.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

WSP ain't that big. Methinks fans should show up the night before.

Esp. since I think this is going to be one of those no so secret secret concerts. I think it's going to be a filmed event, a la "Where the streets have no name." I mean, if I heard about it...

I bet it's in the major press before it happens.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

WSP is pretty big -- as I recall, it's where NYU holds its commencements. But the students will all still be in town, and have an easy time blowing off pre-break classes to hang out and wait for the show if the weather holds.

Last I heard, the cops were kicking people out of the park after like 2am, but even if they're not, it's still post-cleanup not a place I'd stay overnight.

U2 "secret" show is not at Washington Square Park.

From U2log:

At the conclusion of the listening party, a member of U2’s management team pulled us aside and asked us to tell everyone that we know (that’s you!) to be at Empire Fulton Ferry State Park at 3 pm tomorrow (Nov. 22) for a concert by U2.

I need a music review...would I like "Keep it Like a Secret" by Built to Spill?

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Why, oh why, do I not live in New York City??? ::weeps::

I turned off SNL too early the other night, and missed the third performance. Thanks to the glory of the internet, however, I saw it. Amy Poehler, I feel your tears of joy.

And my, but Bono looked good.

Last night I went to a listening party sponsored by the @U2 fan site. Good time, but we were seated in a part of the bar where we couldn't hear the CD very well. Which, actually, is fine with me, as I want my first listen to be loud, private, and with headphones.

In other news, I have named my iPod "Bono Box," and it's a thing of sheer beauty and joy.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

From my friend Ted:

I'm at my desk like any other day, and I hear a band outside. It's not uncommon--bands play on the quad at Columbia all the time--thought the timing seemed a little off. I thought I recognized the beat--but I didn't know the song. Then I looked outside. I put the beat with the image--"that's U2!!!!" I sprinted down the stairs and into the street. They were filming a new video for their how to dismantle an atomic bomb. The band was on a tractor trailer driving down Broadway. I ran with the them (and throngs of other fans, happy-struck by their good fortune) from 116th St. to 110th.

He took some pictures, too. If he says it's okay then I'll link to them.
