launch.com, in a fit of insanity, just played me Hanson. What is sad is that I have never heard this song, it's not even from the MMMBop album and I recognized it as Hanson before checking. My ears can't distinguish individual instruments in most music, I can't match while singing or harmonize, but I can recognized the fucking Hanon brothers. great.
'War Stories'
Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
not to give a play by play of my launch today, but now I am getting Dean Martin singing Gentle on My MInd. I love both things, but together it is all kinds of wrong.
She told me the pain she has down her leg is a 10
I don't think her 10, is the 10 you got to. She needs to go up to 11. She's uncomfortable and the Tylenol isn't helping - but she's still able to sit in her chair, though she has to squirm around a lot. She's clearly uncomfortable.
For those who ever wondered about such things, a survey of Australian actuaries has revealed that the song most likely to get them onto the dance floor is the Village People's "YMCA", with "The Macarena" and "Nut Bush City Limits" equal second. "The Chicken Dance" performed respectably. 6% of respondents said that nothing could possibly get them on the dance floor.
Gives a whole new meaning to "Lets party like actuaries!"
Or not...
Nut Bush City Limits?
Gives a whole new meaning to "Lets party like actuaries!"
I think that phrase is still waiting for an original meaning.
She needs the good stuff. Opiates for all!
Yet another good reason to celebrate the Taliban's demise. Yay, warlords! Grow them poppies! Pop-pies! Pop-pies! Poppies! Popppiiees. Pppopppi...
Any word on the East Village show last night, David? I worked late & missed it, but I will be at the Housing Works event tonight.
I picked up The Indestructible Beat of Soweto last weekend. I've had it on tape for years, but the tape's pretty beat up and I was also hoping to find out more about the artists on it. The music's still great but the liner notes are pretty useless, giving nothing but a quick overview of the contents and translations of the lyrics. That's all fine and well, but there are so many killer musicians on the album and do the notes identify a single one? NO! What's up with that?
Nut Bush City Limits?
Sort of like Austin City Limits, but with fewer banjos and more didjeridus.
Nut Bush City Limits
Go, Tina! They call it Nutbush...
ETA: Or they could be big fans of Live Bullet. Nothing wrong with that, though.
