Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Oh, if you want to talk about "dead girl" songs --

"Teen Angel"

I can't even.

Along the same lines, I was thinking of the Bryan Adams schmoopfest "Everything I do (I do it for you)", which has the added nega-charm of being from Prince of Thieves, the Costner Robin Hood. IJS.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Everything I do (I do it for you)

Hey now, no slagging on my favorite song from 5th grade! (And I've actually never seen Prince of Thieves, but something tells me I should stay far, far away...)

Up with the sun

"I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing," by Aerosmith, reliably sends me diving to change the radio station

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Didn't we have this same discussion a few months ago when there was another "worst song ever" list published somewhere? (and ob-la-di... was at or near the top of that one too, IIRC)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

We're getting older. The memory fades.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

hmm, you people with your hating Dolly Parton songs and Aerosmith. Overplayed? Yes. But worst song ever?

not that I have any better suggestions. best ever and worst ever are silly lists to make.

Dude. Whatever that song was by Nelly and... Kelly Preston, maybe? Came out a couple of years ago, lots of "aaoouuuwww"s in the chorus? Fortunately my coworker's iPod is playing loud enough to make it impossible for me to remember the words, but suffice to say I HATE IT.

edit: Wait, Kelly Preston is the actress, right? Maybe I mean Kelly Rowlands. One of the women from Destiny's Child, I think?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

(And I've actually never seen Prince of Thieves, but something tells me I should stay far, far away...)

Alan Rickman's a lot of fun, mainly because he's in a completely different movie from the rest of the actors. "Whee," says Alan Rickman to himself, "I can do all my scenery-chewing for the next five years in this puppy! Plus, I'm getting paid! Woo hoo!"

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yes. I was the one who posted the link, because I was happy that the song I hate above all others ("We Built This City") was the number one worst song ever.
