War does have red lettering and a black and white photo, but it doesn't seem as theme-directed as the maroon and gold of Unforgettable Fire or the black and gold of Joshua Tree. Boy is just black and white.
Ima still thinking black and gold woulda rocked. Your iPodDetailing May Vary.
To me, black and gold are Pittsburgh Pirate colors, and I can never interpret them any other way. I don't think of any colors as being especially U2 colors.
You could make one green, orange and white like the Irish flag, but then Bono would snag it from you and snarl: "The only color I see is fucking red!"
But maybe not. He's less angry these days.

How long must he sing this song?
Snerk. My condolences.
I haven't followed the team at all in years and years, so i don't even know why you're consoling me. It's just one of those things that gets burned into your brain in childhood if you grow up near Pittsburgh -- black + gold = Pirates or Steelers.

Just consoling you on the brain burn. Black and gold are perfectly lovely colours especially when not associated with Pittsburgh sports franchises. Much better to be colourwormed with, say, the Boston Bruins. Or Joshua Tree, with a nice little gold racing stripe and lettering.
Hmm. I've been thinking of an LCD monitor for my computer, but maybe I'd better go take a look at this iPod.
How fucking cool is this my fellow music geeks?
Our illustrator, Tom Neely, has a cafe press site with the book's interior illustrations on t-shirts and lunchboxes etc..
Dolly Parton, Swamp Dogg, X-Girl, Howlin' Wolf, Roy Wood, Paul McCartney, Space Ghost!
I've already been talking with the wife about getting the Roosevelt Franklin onesie for the upcoming critter. But secretly I want the Space Ghost Meets Sonny Sharrock hat.
I want the Yoko mug and the McCartney lunch box. Ha! Those are great!
I have made my executive decision to buy the U2 iPod. I'm going to go home tonight and make sure my computer can handle the upgrade to XP, and that my CD burner will still work with XP. Then tomorrow I'm heading to the Apple store where I can get the feel of a regular-sized iPod and see their weekly presentation on the iPod/iTunes.
Thanks for answering all my questions and feeding my desire for this piece of machinery!
