Gimme a laptop with wooden side-panels, and I might have to give in.
So, then, Sandbenders?
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

If it's Hymns from the 49th Parallel (I just looked at Amazon), she covers Leonard Cohen -- "Bird on a Wire" and "Hallelujah." Must. Get. CD.
This is her latest - she covers great Canadian songwriters. Lenny, of course, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Cockburn, Jane Siberry (I think).
The cover of "Hallelujah" isn't as good as others I've heard. But her covers of "After the Gold Rush" and "Helpless" by Neil Young are superb.
It's a very mellow album, but really lovely. And yes, there's some Jane Siberry on the album. Two songs, I think.

See, I heard her "Hallelujah" and declared it a possibility for my One True Version.
The new Tegan and Sara came out today! I want it.

SA put a version of "Hallelujah" on a mix CD that I'm absolutely in love with. I think the singer is Ari Hest (?)

Really? He's coming to Borders this Sunday.
I *just* looked on his website and saw that he's coming to Cincy on Monday! Free concert, right around the corner from me!
Don't worry, Gandalfe, I got the Sandbenders joke...
Happy Birthday, Angus!!!
