Joe, I used a song with my own name, too.
Because I could.
And checking out the iTunes store led me to a cover of that song, which led me to go to Emusic to see if they had that (small) band up there, which they didn't, but led me to a 70s band of similar name, which led me to a disco compilation album, which led to me listening to Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" RIGHT NOW, AIFG.
Jon, I didn't mean to insult MLL AT ALL.
Oh, I know. I didn't read it that way. I just wanted to add a little bit of personal knowledge in case there was any doubt.
I just remembered a song that would let me do all the categories (I skipped one), make my mix 80 min EXACTLY, and it's one of my favorite songs.
Reburning now.
Yeah, I got a Peter Gabriel CD over the weekend, and I really would have loved to have used "Red Rain" as my color song, but I already sent the CD out. And I'm happy with the color song I chose. (Blue Jean, by Bowie, for the record.)
Say it with me: “Chop-a-tool-us”.
Heh. I sit here smug in the knowledge that I already knew how to pronounce "Tchoupitoulas."
“An Occasional Man” Jeri Southern. For Rebecca. “I’ve got an island in the Pacific. Ev’rything about is terrific. I’ve got papayas, peaches, sandy beaches and… an occasional man.”
I love this song, though my favorite version is Anita O'Day backed by Cal Tjader.
"Working in the Coal Mine" was the theme for the show
Working.
My CD disappeared over the weekend. No idea where it is. I just reburned and finished the case and it will be in the mail this afternoon.
My CD is in the mail! Is it supposed to be a surprise who initially gets whose CD? Mine went to
Hayden
.
Well as long as 500 is just sitting there...
