but I thought they were all glam-ish.
Nope. More like Suicide, but with sexy scandavians in leather. Lots of hellish rockabilly imagery. But no glam nor rockabilly.
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I see. I do like me some Suicide. In fact, I was blaring Frankie Teardrop last night. My wife came in to tell me to stop disturbing our unborn child, but, y'know, I suspect that the fruit of my loins likes Suicide, too.

She was the drummer with the Velvet Underground.
Jilli will be happy to hear that I bought Placebo's Without You I'm Nothing. I'm listening to it now. Track 3 is ending. Why the hell did I not get this until now? Shit.
When I was in the record store buying TNoTBiTH, they were playing something cool-sounding from Blond Redhead. I'd never heard of them before. Anybody like them?
eta: I've finally jumped on the Snow Patrol bandwagon (thanks to P-C and cathy). I listened to Final Straw twice and I was kinda meh. Then two weeks after I had last listened to it, iTunes randomly played a few songs from it. I was all "This is really good - who is it?" So I guess I needed three listens plus some time for it to seep into the cracks in my brain before I could fall for it....
Blond Redhead
Yes! Mr. H picked it up a while ago. I liked it, but I haven't come across it lately. I'm awful at describing music, or I'd tell you what they were reminicent of.

I think that happened to me as well. There were a few songs (the ones that struck me enough to buy it in the first place) which I loved initially, but it did take a few listens to really seep in, and after that, I couldn't stop listening to the fucking thing.
