Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Excellent plan. When they tour they'll only stop at redundantly named places like Walla Walla.

Yay, that means Bora Bora is on the tour!

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Oh, how I love you all. :-)

But could we let Oingo Boingo in? Maybe they could be the opening act.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

The 6ths' "You You You You You" for their more romantic sets, of course.

To return to the topic of Dave Davies, who I hope will recover quickly, I have a couple of tracks from the band Deathray Davies. They look to be kind of shticky, as you would guess from the name, but I have fallen for the track "She Can Play Me Like a Drum Machine" for the silly pop song it is.

Ann, that's a ferret.

The 6ths' "You You You You You" for their more romantic sets, of course.

Beats the Ames Brothers' "You You You."

Don't forget the medley of the doo-wop "Tonight, Tonight" and Genesis's "Tonight Tonight Tonight."

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Surely there's a "Sugar, Sugar" out there somewhere.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Houston, we have blurb.

A great read. It's all true. A crucial companion for any music lover lost in the corporate world. -Marianne Faithfull
