I just have to say that the Angus Buffistamix CD is FG. I am worried, though, because I've listened to that AC/DC song about five times already. This is not consonant with my established musical worldview. In fact, I may owe my headbanging little brother an apology (but I draw the line at seeking out any Lita whatsername).

Anyway, it's been so long -- who do I send these off to? Joe B?

And everyone's heard the Postal Service cover of "Against All Odds," right? Right? It performs a total Phil Collins exorcism.

Heh. Weird. I see two shows this year, and Butterfly Boucher opens 'em both. She opened for BNL earlier this year (along with Gavin DeGraw, whom I was surprised to really enjoy). She was good, and now I'm at least familiar with her single and a decent cover she's got out.

Bonzo Dog Band alumnus Vivian Stanshall's Sir Henry At Rawlinson End.

Can't beat a bit of Sir Henry. He did a late-night TV ad for Ruddles beer in the late '80s that still terrifies those of us who remember it. One of the real, great tragic genius figures of the British '60s, Viv Stanshall was. You know he died in a fire a while back?

Glad you enjoyed it erinaceous! AC/DC are, well, not my usual thing perhaps, but they transcend all musical boundaries really don't they.

(BTW one of the laneways in Melbourne is going to be renamed "ACDC Lane"!)

This just in from Yo La Tengo:

Do you have a tv? Do you live in the US? Well, we're going to be on the McEnroe program Thursday night. It airs on CNBC at 10 pm where we live (Hoboken), and who-knows-when where you are. And they rerun it too. We'll play a song, and we're going to be the house band as well.

That's tonight. They're not on TV very often, so this should be special. Try to ignore Mac's godawful interviewing skills.

I kinda like McEnroe's show-- he's quicker on his feet than I would have guessed. The complete lack of control over the show is refreshing. Not that I've seen more than one episode, but I pity his low ratings.
