Woo hoo!
Nicely pimped, Jon.
Thank you, Alicia.
Fred ,'A Hole in the World'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Hec, when does the new book come out?
I'm thinking of asking Quimbys if they can order it for me (assuming they otherwise wouldn't have it.) Would that be helpful? I'm thinking that if they order a copy for me they might order one or two more copies for their shelves....
Not Hec (who is probably frantically proofreading the proofs as I type), but the tentative publication date is October 26. And ordering is probably definitely helpful.
Odd. Just as I was listening to the Tartan Horde song, "Bay City Rollers, We Love You", this was the quote at the top of the screen:
The Bay City Rollers, now that's music.
Giles, 'The Dark Age'
And ordering is probably definitely helpful.
If you could provide relevant information, this is one I'd like to give people as an Xmas book this year, just on premise alone.
Lost In The Grooves: Scram's Capricious Guide To The Music You Missed, edited by Kim Cooper and David Smay, Routledge Press, ISBN# 0415969980, est. publication date 10/23/04. It's already available for preorder on Amazon, but it'd be better still if you ordered it from your local bricks-and-mortar bookstore, blah blah independent booksellerscakes.
Sweet!
Hey David -- I got the glam mix yesterday. Thanks! A postal tip for you, though: Sending a CD priority mail for $3.85 is a waste of money. Use regular first class. It'll only cost a dollar and change and arrives just as fast.

Note to File: Jon unimpressed with Sense of Urgency thing
Thank you, though.
