Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
A friend of mine heard a song off of Blueberry Boat on the radio and said it was "me". Now I must hear it.
Currently playing: The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions.
Right now I'm just listening to the original 2 tracks, then I'll go back and dig deep the well of the sessions.
Hmm. Must go listen to a song or two, then. When Jon taps his fingers together, you know he means business.

Can I recommend "Quay Cur" and "I Lost My Dog"? For some reason, the dog songs are my favorites.
edit - and woo hoo! for Jack Johnson.
Teppy! Did you get my package yet? It should have arrived by Friday (finally, finally went out on Tuesday).
I am sorely tempted to buy that Fiery Furnaces CD now.

No! I bet it'll be waiting for me on Monday. Since it's my work address, there's the very real and very annoying possibility that the co-worker who's supposed to check the mail down in the lobby didn't actually do it, and the mail from Friday just sat in the box.
I'll definitely let you know when I get it.
Dammit! I fought horrible traffic and went to three different music stores, but could not find the Fiery Furnaces CD. Now I'm gonna go to Evanston to see I, Robot (yeah, I know it's gonna suck) and go to Dr. Wax (the music store where I get most of my CDs). I could buy it on iTunes, but I want the CD so I'll have better sound quality. (It seems that the more sonicly "complex" a song is, the worse it sounds when compressed, so for this album I'd rather not do iTunes.)

Grr. I was hoping you'd get it in time for the weekend. Well, it'll definitely be there on Monday, then.
I am now seeing Alice as a natural bookend to the Frank Trilogy
been listening to alice all weekend. I am coming to the conclusion it's his masterpiece - it combines the songwriting of the early years with the carny madness of the later work perfectly.
