Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I haven't been able to get Allmusic to load all day. Now I know why--their servers are suffering cosmic retribution because they were mean to Jon.

edit: so far, i've only tried Mozilla on my iBook.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

No joy with Firebird.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Yep. I've heard that the new site doesn't work with Mozilla/Firebird. Idiots.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Yeah, I hate the new allmusic interface. It looks like they organized a crack team of experts in dambuilding to create it.

What's weird is that it's gone live even though it doesn't seem to be finished. I just checked the "What's New" page in the new Help Center and got a page of "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit" etc. Idiots.

IE's market share is actually declining for the first time ever, and Mozilla/Firebird are increasing their market share. A dumb time to switch to an IE-only site. (But maybe they intend to support Mozilla/Firebird/Opera, and just haven't gotten it working yet....)

edit: I just got it to load in Mozilla/OS X.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

but more importantly, the entry on me has lost all but my Lothars credit!

Clear Channel owns it now, and you're one o' them pinko types, so it's not surprising. </lying through my teeth>

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

maybe they intend to support Mozilla/Firebird/Opera, and just haven't gotten it working yet...

You would think they'd get the bugs worked out *before* they went live.

Huh. So the Lothars are "followers" of Brian Eno....

I actually have never heard any Lothars. I should remedy that....

Fuck them.

edit: Same warning on Safari 1.0.2. I deinstalled IE on my Mac so I can't try that....

I found the contact page to submit comments. Here's what I wrote:

1. Not convinced yet that the new design is an improvement over the old. Other than the song samples, I'm not seeing why it's better.

2. Why go live with the new design when then are still unfinished pages? In searching for contact info, I found a few populated with latin gibberish.

3. In this day and age, when more and more people are moving *away* from the Windows/IE combination, it's inexcusable that the new design doesn't work on Macs or on Mozilla/Firefox!

4. Worst of all, my own personal entry seems to have been stripped of all my musical credits save for one band. What's up with that? Note: the "worst of all" part is a joke (barely).

Did I mention they were idiots?
