Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Who was it wanted to know about The Killers? I have heard two songs and they're both keepers: Jenny and Indie Rock and Roll.

My favorite part of "Indie Rock and Roll" is when the guy sings "She plays the drums/I'm on tambourine" and then there's a completely cheesy & ostentatious tambourine wiggle. Cracks me up every time.

And I love "Of Montreal" because 1) really cool name, how many bands are prepositional phrases? and 2)Disconnect the Dots is a very cool song.

I am with Lyra on the Beatles. Nice, I can see the genius, I don't turn it off but I never reach for it. Someone once said to me that the Beatles are Love and the Rolling Stones are Sex, and I have to say I agree. I reach for "Sticky Fingers" fairly often.

I went to google the Kylie/Fischerspooner thing (before I saw that it was on a buffistamix that might someday come my way) and I don't know what this means but it looks really, really funny: "Kylie Minogue sous la lame de Fischerspooner"

The Kylie/Fischerspooner mix was also on Angus' World Without Shrimp mix.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Can anyone help me with the iTunes store? I already *have* iTunes on my computer, now I want to open an account at the store and buy music (and possibly win a 20gig iPod). All the links on the Apple site make it seem like they want me to download iTunes again. Is this right?

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

If you have iTunes already, there's a store link in the left-hand menu.

You cannot access the iTunes store outside of the iTunes app.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

That was me asking about The Killers. I think I'll have to pick that one up. I bet my local music shoppe has it on sale.

While I love the song "Special K," I have not liked any other Placebo songs I have heard. I find the singer's voice nearly intolerable.

Ah-ha! I knew there was something basic I was missing.

But but but ... nah, I've heard that from other people, too. I still think they're wonderful.

Wait! So all this time (okay, about forty minutes) that I've been thinking "ooh, I like that song, can't wait to get the remix" I ALREADY HAVE IT?

One of the nice things about being dumb and oblivious is that you can be pleased by the same things over and over again.

Oops, I forgot about Placebo's cover of "20th Century Boy." Make that two songs by them I like.

Crap, next thing you know, I'll love his voice!
