Ooh, the Raveonettes are fun.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
P-C: You are probably the only person who's read that list of bands and gotten excited about the Raveonettes.
Lee Caulfield (ex-TTer and friend of many round these parts) has an excellent MP3 blog for classic soul and disco. The other one I really like is the very diverse Fluxblog.
The audio of my show Friday is now archived. Links to audio from my playlist.
Let me know if you have problems getting it to work.
have you heard the Outnumbered?
No, but I will. I know what you mean about Pansy Division, but their cover of Teen Spirit and "Have a homo christmas" are both essential.
As I recall, Jim go to spend some time with Huggy Bear.
Yeah. I was the Huggy Bear equivalent of one of the kids who follow the Pistols around in Sid & Nancy .
BTW, Jon, have you seen the tracklisting for the new Rough Trade Indie volume 1 CD?
Yeah. I was the Huggy Bear equivalent of one of the kids who follow the Pistols around in Sid & Nancy.
Did you come to the US with them?
have you seen the tracklisting for the new Rough Trade Indie volume 1 CD?
Not sure. Rough Trade seems to be compilation crazy these days; it's hard to keep track of which is which. Link?
Nah, I never came to the States - by the time they went on that tour the moment had kinda passed and they were getting inducted into the K Records Seekrit Handshake Club rather than trying to foment revolution among the yout' of Britain. Which I understand, in that they were always inspired by US lo-fi, but as a subset of k they were far less interesting than as a homegrown version. #

Not bad, although the wrong Primals track (if you only have one jangly Primals song it should be Velocity Girl) and I'd rather ditch Bis in favour of Chia Pet's "Hey Baby". Still a nice way to replace all the 7"s and tapes girls made me in the late '80s...
Hey! Don't dis the mix-tape chicks. But that does look like a good compilation, based on the quality of the songs I do recognize among the ones I don't.
I heart the mix-tape chicks, Micha, but I no longer have a tape deck in my house (I do in my car, which means that my listening is schizoid - fashionable modern music, electronica etc at home, indie pop, Dexy's and Hec's Bubblegum tapes in the car).
In honor of the voting folks up north, my music rec of the day is Emm Gryner.
