Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Jesse! You went to the Prince Loser's Lounge! How was it? Please, please, make them extend it another weekend ...

I realized that I have ANOTHER Gourds song on my iPod, "El Paso," from the Oxford American CD which I also love. I think more Gourds are in my future.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The "Little Red Corvette" was definitely a highlight. Also fun was when one of the singers started with "When I say LOSERS, you say LOUNGE!" I shit you not. (Note: This is not really that kind of crowd. When you look around the room, most people look happy, but no one is moving, and hardly anyone is even singing along.)

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

LL is doing *Prince*!?!

Damn, I need to go. But I am away next weekend!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Has anyone ever heard of a punk band called Tutu and the Pirates?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

No. Has anyone ever heard of a non-punk band called Eddie from Ohio?

I have! They play around the DC-area from time-to-time. Haven't actually seen them live yet, but I've heard one of their songs done by a bunch of friends of mine.("Three Fine Daughters of Farmer Brown" is the song I've heard)

DO IT. I've seen them three times. They're so fun live. They sound terrific, and the stage banter is absolutely hilarious.

Like, your friends are in a band that covers EFO? That's awesome!

.("Three Fine Daughters of Farmer Brown"

That's a fun song, and if you go to a live show, tell me so I can teach how to do the Joe so you can be cool.

Looking Out the Fishbowl is ending...I'm going to put in Quick now.

No, but in the mid 1980s there was a danish band called Dodo and the Dodos.

I really prefer cruller bands. More filling and satisfying.

Well, it's a filk group that covers a variety of material. (It's an all-female group called Lady Mondegreen)

I also know of EfO because one of my favorite acapella groups performs with them often. Have you heard of DaVinci's Notebook?
