Great. You leave a human heart in the hospitality suite, and the hotel never wants to work with your group again. I bet the Baptist group didn't leave any vital organs behind.

Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Actually, I think I left it over by the White House. I remember thinking that a few of the folks over there could use one.
To sacrifice to the Old Ones, maybe.
Too late.
Also, that's where I got "Pete Rose Affinity" for my mix.
Woo hoo! Summer Hymns!
I just got the Destiny Dolls, and "The Jeep Song" is my current favorite song of all time.
As I was listening to the album this morning, I was struck by how much it reminded me of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, but somehow it's not as comfortable? acceptable? to listen to a women having those feelings of outsiderness, anger, and a light dusting of insanity.

Dresden Dolls. And "The Jeep Song" has awesome lyrics, but I like the music of many of the other songs better.
"Slide," for instance, is lovely in a dark way. And "Girl Anachronism" is so fun to rock out to.

Hm.
Also, incidentally, did you get the CD cause of my recommendation? Or had you already heard of them? Or, hey, was it at the F2F? However you heard of 'em, supersweet. It's a great CD.

Really? It worked for PJ Harvey.
(smacks head) That's what I get for multitasking. DRESDEN Dolls. Hard to screw that up with the doll's head in the china cup on the cover. (Really well-designed cover, also).
Hec: snerk.
The wanna-be DJ I work with recommended it first, when he heard me listening to Tom Waits. I don't see the connection. I therefore did not purchase it until lurking around here showed me recs from P-C and Lizard.
The dedication-of-the-WWII-memorial celebration on the DC Mall includes a stage with numerous musical acts performing songs of the era. So I spent my lunch hour at an Inkspots concert. 3rd row.
Had a grand time. The lead singer doesn't have the falsetto right. And the music had a little too much influence from '50s R&B. But that's the sort of thing that happens with nostalgia acts. And it's hard to go wrong with "To Each His Own."
