There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Someone described it as a nice followup to Coldplay.

I keep reading that, but I'm not hearing the Coldplay so much. Coldplay has a very different sound, in my mind. When I first listened, I thought of Death Cab with a little harder edge. It's not as ethereal as Coldplay; it's much more rock-oriented with the chugging guitars and whatnot. But hey, I love Coldplay, so I would take that as a compliment.

Mmmmm. Death Cab.

Yeah, like I said, I'd love to hear 'em.

Everyone has been recommending him to me, but I have only heard his cover of Radiohead's "Creep".

As much as Coachella sounded HORRIBLE in the practical sense (can you even *imagine* the lines for water and bathrooms?) that Pixies' set sounds like a million and one fantasies I've had of seeing them again everytime I listen to my BBC recordings discs...

So - are they just doing the *one* Lollapalooza date in NY or a bunch of them? Goddamnit if I am not effing tempted to buy Lolla-freaking-palooza tickets. Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Polyphonic Spree, Morrissey. But uggggh just the thought of an expensive, crowded music festival at our local horrible-sound-system-having ampitheatre. We'll see.

SA - the only thing I know of Damien Rice is that he is Irish. And one of my beloved teensoapoperas on the WB or Fox played him once and I thought he sounded like Ryan Adams.

Also - Dave and Tim are on their way to you! I know...it is hard for me to believe, too.

edited: because nobody needs that many elipses

Similar, but more...raw, and less whiny. I like him a lot. You can listen to a couple tracks at his website; you used to be able to download stuff, but I guess they cut that.

Shiny!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

SA -- new Jamie Cullum CD comes out next week, IIRC.

AND he's playing at that shindig next Friday night (the 14th) -- let me know if you can come up for it!
