"I've been waiting" is a perfect pop song.
I agree. In fact, it'll be on one of the three weddng mixes I'm making.
'Heart Of Gold'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Now Playing: "Silver Raven" by Gene Clark from the legendary No Other album.
We feature Gene in the book, writing about his first record with the Gosdin Brothers, and focusing on him in the intro when we talk about how some people pass from cult to canon - and others do not.
Hey David -- I'm dying to see what the layout of the book is like. Have you got any galleys or whatever they're called. Or rather, will you have anything to show me a month from now? (I'm working on the questionaire)

We haven't gotten the proofs back yet. I don't think they've even started laying it out. But we do have a GREAT sketch for the cover, which Tom just colored so it'll be in Routledge's April catalog. If I'm not mistaken, once the catalog goes out, it should pop up on Amazon. I don't think I have the cover sketch on my home computer though - but I'll give you a peek on Sunday when I have to go to the office.
So -- Franz Ferdinand. (The musical group, not the dead archduke.) What do we think? Like? Dislike? Indifferent?

Finally, a friend told me last night that Jeff Tweedy just put himself in rehab for painkiller addiction BUT that they are still supposed to go ahead with their tour. I'm supposed to see him in 11 days. I'm not so sure that's such a great idea. As much as I'm excited to see him, I would really rather he get better. Hmm. Poor guy.
Poor Jeff. What was he originally taking the painkillers for?
