Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Lyra, no, I didn't get your mix (I was hoping I would). Did you get mine? Thanks for the ballpark for the CD trade-ins, too ...

Jon, the ST box set is EVERYTHING. I'm pretty sure. I'm not near it now or I'd post the list. It was a bit of overkill, considering all I wanted was "Cold Rain."

Erin, are you aware of this? There was a preview the other day & it was fun. JF's Guilty Pleasure: "Crazy In Love". His Hidden Treasure: "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" by Sammy Davis Jr. (My favorite Cole Porter song. Had never heard the Sammy version.) Matt Stone, of South Park fame, Guilty Pleasure: "Poison" by Bell Biv Devoe. (JF: "My wife makes me change the station whenever that comes on.") His Hidden Treasure: "Since I Fell for You", Mel Tormé.

I had heard that it was going to be aired, but hadn't listened to it -- I'll have to hijack it.

I LOVE that Mel Torme version; that's one of my favorite songs, evah. And I'm glad that I'm not the only one who was obsessed by "Crazy In Love ..."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

More potential book jacket blurb:

Mike Watt of the Minutemen (and recently the Stooges!) would be happy to read and comment on Lost in the Grooves.

Yeah, if we got it down to five blurbs, I'd definitely want Watt on there. It's good to have the imprimatur of approval from The Man With The Most Punk Rock Cred Ever.

Shit. Lyra Jane. I just read Beep Me. That sucks. I'm so sorry.

You will have Jon's mix soon and I'll send you a super special mix for the job hunting as well. I'm looking for editing jobs myself and if I run across some helpful info in your area - I will send it along.
