I've been sleeping with my baseball bat next to me, instead of under the bed. And I have NO idea where the Unspecified Dread came from.
Probably more useful than a fanged stuffed bunny sleeping on your head. Sure, he's going to rule the world one day, but not a terribly useful weapon.
Huh. I've been having an attack of Unspecified Dread myself, lately. How odd.
Man, it IS bad juju floating around.
Okay, who bogarted all the good juju?!?
It's just the hellmouth in Cleveland acting up. You need to leave OH, Steph.
when you're feeling kind of mixed-up, just remember it's a mixed-up world.

And The Tick wouldn't give it to her! Institutionalized!!!
I got the new N.E.R.D. album last night.
It's interesting, and has a much stronger Beatles/Stevie Wonder vibe than I had expected from hearing "Rock Star" and reading their reviews. I don't dislike it -- the Neptunes are clearly very good at what they do -- but it's much poppier and less angsty than what I normally listen to.
Good workout music, though.
(I also got Mary Lou Lord's Baby Blue, which I like.)
This is nice. Jan Crocker is a Boston resident who, back in the late 70's / early 80's would videotape bands at clubs. He put together a 60 minute compilation that he screened last new year's eve at First Night. I heard it was good but I missed it. Now he's posted a pair of Cure videos to his web site. This is vintage stuff -- recorded in 1980 at a small club called The Underground during their first US tour.

Warning these files are big! (108 MB and 185MB respectively). I could do with less footage of the new wave girls dancing in FiC, but this is still great stuff!

New Wave Girls are Go!
Sounds like the punchline for a 1982 joke about NASA geeks and their big weekend plans.
And speaking of The Tick (you brought it up, David)... my love for Liz "Captain Liberty" Vassey just keeps growing. (I realize you probably meant the animated Tick, but do you really want to complain about Liz Vassey pics?)
