There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I really do not know how to properly use a semicolon. The only times I'm sure are the joining of clauses with however, and for wordy lists when commas won't work.
Did I mention that I never had a class in grammar after grade eight.
You too?
Uh-huh. My brother is 38. Dropped out of highschool when he was 15 and is going back to school for the first time and has become a total geek. It's adorable. He started reading - like - books. He got an award in some chemistry class. But he can't write. So I *help*. He really needs to take English from grades 7-12 over.
I have to clean my apartment. Need motivation.
Favorite albums to clean to - anyone?
A couple of mine are
Cake
Fashion Nugget
De la Soul
Stakes is High
Los Lobos
Just Another Band from East LA

You mean using them to separate a series of items which themselves contain commas? Mmm. One of my faves.

The man responsible for Schoolhouse Rock. And a somewhat obsessive guide to the individual segments.
Dorough performed at a school assembly when I was in 5th grade. He did songs from Multiplication Rock.
And I own an original cell of the Bill sitting here on Capitol Hill.
I put a line break in with those semicolonsemicolon posts because they were making the page too wide. t /stompy
I've got Bob Dorough's early jazz recordings. His vocalese piece on "Yardbird Suite" is great - love it.
I really do not know how to properly use a semicolon.
It's simple really. It joins two independent clauses. Or, as I think of it, two things which could stand as separate sentences.
We're wooing people for back cover blurbage on the book. Might be able to get Van Dykes Park, and Lux&Ivy.

Sweet! As you know, David Fricke and I are as close as two guys who stood next to each other at a Knife in the Water show can be.

Feel free to tell her she's on my Buffista mix if you think it will help...
David, I just emailed you. Hayden, I just enlisted Eliot to try to get Jonathan's help. No promises but a decent chance. I told him to mention that we're both in it & to remind him (JL) about the profile you did in the High Hat. Did Jonathan say anything to you? He liked it but was horrified at the pic you used.
Joe, please emphasize to him that I had clipped a very nice picture of him from the Motherless Brooklyn era, but our art director went with the other picture for reasons unknown. Please also emphasize that we don't pay our art director anything (which makes me second-guessing him a bit uncomfortable) and that I didn't see the picture until we went live. If it helps, I'm more than willing to apologize to him myself, but was a bit worried that he might mistake me for a stalker at that point.
