Willie Nelson's cover of "September Song" popped up on my player right before I got Kim's email & it reminded me of Lou's great cover on Hal Willner's Kurt Weill tribute Lost in the Stars (much better than his cover of the same song on Willner's second Weill tribute, September Songs). So of course I started wondering if George Russell recorded it, too, giving me the "Lost in the Grooves" hat trick, but alas I found no evidence of any Weill in his discography. I doubt that there's more than a couple degrees of separation, though. (His buddies Miles & Gil Evans did a killer version of "My Ship" on Miles Ahead that was perhaps their finest collaboration.)

- probably my favorite of the Willner projects. Though I did like the sheer wackiness of Mingus/Partch, and listen to the Nino Rota a lot too.
Stay Awake
has lots of good stuff too, particularly Tom Waits and The Replacements and Los Lobos. Plus, Ken Nordine!

Right on - the publisher loves the cover sketch by the artist we picked to do the interior illustrations. As Deb will attest - you don't usually get much input on the cover.
Book is tentatively scheduled for November. Our artist, Tom Neely, will be busting his hump to make a full color cover for the April 10th catalog. Once it's in the catalog, it goes up on Amazon. Then it feels real.

A comma splice is two main clauses linked by a comma. (ex: The wind was cold, they decided not to walk.) You can usually fix them by throwing a conjunction after the comma or just making them two sentences. I know you didn't ask. But I haven't edited anything in days and I was feeling some grammar withdrawal.
ION - did all emusic users know that once you've downloaded something you can download it again and again and it doesn't count against your monthly total? Very handy considering how much stuff I have lost off my hard drive since I opened my account.
