"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Does anyone know anything about Morcheeba?

Shawn does. She sent me some on the trip hop mix.

"Why do the facts hate America?" - Jon Stewart

So – the new Wilco, “A Ghost is Born” – wonderful. It moves away from the noise experimentation of YHF, but for the last track which honestly I could live without, but there’s some incredible instrumental experimentation going on. I have a feeling that like YHF it’s going to take many listenings for me to fully appreciate it. Some folks I know don’t like the electric guitar noodling on “Muzzle of Bees” but I kind of love it – it’s Sonic Youth style noodling, not jam-band style, which I have no tolerance for. And they’ve still got some shorter poppier numbers – “Handshake Drugs” should be a single. (Yeah, I know that one was on the EP but I love that song)

Does anyone know anything about Morcheeba?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I know a little about Morcheeba. You could probably find out the same amount from allmusic.

Angus, mwah!

Cool, glad they arrived. And hence the asking.

I'll poke around the net a bit more, then.

I AM SO JEALOUS THAT CATHY HAS HEARD THE NEW WILCO!!

But I'm glad to hear you like it.

Off to music store to buy the new Iron and Wine...(with a gift certificate! - I am being a good unemployed musicholic. Last night I got all hooked up with emusic at home. And it took me 3 HOURS to download a single album but - it was free. It was free.)

Not that I would ever advocate illegal music downloading, but the new wilco can be downloaded from [link]

Our Endless Numbered Days may be the best mostly cloudly weekday spent not working but instead toodling about the house album ever made.

Forget the may be. It IS the best mostly cloudy weekday spent not working but instead toodling about the house album ever made.

And right now it comes with a 2nd disc w/demos and unreleased stuff on it to boot.

Thanks for the link cathy - sadly for me soulseek is decidedly unfriendly with the Mac. Ah well. I'll just have to scour the internet all day looking for another place to download it from wait til it comes out.

Up with the sun

(tina, I hate to bug you about the mix trade, but do you have Jon's CD yet? I'm sure SXSW has slowed things down a bit upstream from me.)

tina f. - Mar 24, 2004 9:39:47 am PST #1748 of 10003

No worries LJ - I don't have Jon's mix yet. I think that guy who is about to get married and just finished his book still has it. Not that I am pressuring him or anything.

pokes Hec

Seriously though - I'm not bugging you, Hec - Lyra Jane is!!

kidding kidding.
