Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Meep! Meep!

Sleater-Kinney. Touring. In DC.

I haven't seen them in a couple years. All the tickets (or two, anyhow) are belong to me.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I just have to say - I hate Bjork. Hate her, would not be overly concerned if she never sang another note in her life. Think she's the new Yoko Ono, only, you know, without the whole breaking up the Beatles thing.

Dude, I have a couple of mix CDs that might pass you by if you keep talking trash about my girl from Reikjavik ;-).

I am not a huge solo Bjork fan - but I loooove me some Sugarcubes.

I saw the Sugarcubes open for PiL and New Order in

thinks way back

1988?

And Bjork had this flower on her belt that was a water gun and kept spraying the audience with it. I thought she was the coolest thing ever.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I thought she was the coolest thing ever.

Still my opinion. Love Bjork and all her Bjorkfulness.

You know it took me until just this second to remember what PiL stood for...(I refused to look it up - and was willing my brain to cough it up.)

Public Image Ltd.

How could I forget that? Insert whine about getting old here.

You are so old and forgetful, tina! I am going to have to punish you for aging by removing your PiL and Bjork CDs when you're not looking.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I saw Sleater-Kinney with Martha C. last year -- they were opening for Pearl Jam and they scheduled all of one solo show in NYC, and it happened to be in our neighborhood. They ROCKED. Enjoy the show!

Angus, I hate La Boheme, but I am thrilled thrilled for your sister. What does she think of this whole ridiculous business at Covent Garden?

Also, David, if that's your music queue rationale, I need some mixes FedExed to me, stat.

Really? Is 2004 sucky for you?

Oh, yeah.

(You don't read my blog *religiously*? I'm heartbroken. ;) )
