Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Fun, thanks, Joe!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Anne's mix won't burn for me.

Kate, if you have trouble getting a copy, email me at my profile addy, and I'll burn and send you a fresh copy.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Gay Dad was the British music press's Flavour of the Month a couple years back. I still have no idea what they sounded like, though.

On the basis of that review, I'd guess pretentious.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Alicia K., insent to profile address.

Anne, thanks for the offer. I'm wondering if it might just be a simple incompatibility between your CD burner and my CD player? Hopefully Jon will be able to make a good copy for me (thanks Jon!) but I'll let you know if it doesn't work out.

I went CD shopping yesterday, despite my extreme poverty. Bad habits are hard to break. But they were used! That's OK, right? I picked up a copy of Ani's Little Plastic Castles (I'm slowly replacing most of my old tapes on CD), as well as two Susana Baca albums, Espiritu Vivo and Vestida de Vida, and Massive Attack's Blue Lines. Yay new music!

He's always been a glam rock fan. Dolls are his favorite group and he named one of his bands Buick MacKane (a T.Rex song).

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I got meara & Anne's mixes from Kate today! I won't have a chance to listen (and see if I can burn Anne's mix) until the weekend. Hey - there were no liner notes with meara's mix. Is that right?

t on edit Maybe I should print this out before passing it on?

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I am listening to Miles Davis right now AIFG!!
