I'm so evil and... skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Caffeine freak...

Oh, I'm a junkie. I freely admit that.

Hey, it's better than heroin....

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Got mine yesterday, too.

Now playing: The Shaggs' Philosophy of the World. Ahhhh.

Up with the sun

I have finally sent Hayden's mix on to Lyra Jane. Sorry for the delay.

No problem! I will watch for it.

I received my check from the record companies yesterday. You know, for the big anti-trust lawsuit?

Me too. Trying to decide if it's going to Rilo Kiley, or the Walkmen.

Trying to decide if it's going to Rilo Kiley, or the Walkmen.

Go Rilo Kiley! Choose Rilo Kiley! Make sure it's their second album (Execution of All Things) and not their first (Take Offs and Landings) though if you do. (Though I have heard very good things about The Walkmen as well).

I didn't get a check. I don't know what you all are talking about actually - but if I did have $13 it would cover a third of what I just bought at the CD shop:

New Magnet with Robyn Hitchcock on the cover, The Elected Me First and Tallahassee by The Mountain Goats - who I am seeing tonight for $2. Yay for new music and cheap shows!

Is the first one the one with "A Better Son/Daughter" on it? Because I am in LOVE with that song.

I'm going to blow my $13.86 on a CD definitely.

"A Better Son/Daughter" is off the highly superior second album - Execution of All Things. And just wait until you hear the rest - all of Jenny Lewis' songs are exceptional, the other singer, Blake Sennett, is less awesome - somewhat of a Elliott Smith-lite type singer. But he doesn't have a ton of songs. I just bought his side-project band's first album today, actually (The Elected).

Buffy side note: A song from RK's first album was used in the ep where Dawn traps everyone in the house on Buffy' Birthday with her wish - from S6 - I don't remember the ep name - but anyhoo - that's the Buffy connection.

For all my love of RK - I've only listened to their first album about four times - it just didn't hook me. Whereas I think I have bought five copies of Execution now - one to replace mine when it got a scratch and three as gifts. I may be keeping them in business.

I remember one song I liked from the first album

t runs off to check for title on my playlist database...

Did you like the second Jon?

I didn't hate their first album - it just isn't something I ever feel the need to put in my stereo - each time I have, it's like "well, I guess I should give this another try."
