Buffista Music II: Wrath of Chaka Khan

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Best. Look. Ever. It's what I'm wearing right now! AIFG!

Hey, Jon, if you get the chance on Wednesday of SXSW, my buddy Che Arthur is playing that night. If we don't talk beforehand, let's hook up at his show.

Crap! Mission of Burma and the Wrens are playing the same night.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Hey, Jon, if you get the chance on Wednesday of SXSW, my buddy Che Arthur is playing that night. If we don't talk beforehand, let's hook up at his show.

You mean the day that there's only 7 pages of listings (vs. 9 pages each for thurs, fri, and sat)?

Actually, he's scheduled for 8pm, so that might be doable. I don't see anything else of interest until 10pm when Minmae are playing (you might remember them from such CD compilations as "Jon B.'s best of 2003").

Crap! Mission of Burma and the Wrens are playing the same night.

It'll be 4 days full of first world problems such as these.

I'd recommend seeing Burma. The Wrens are more likely to play again in Austin sometime in the near future. Burma, not so much.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know what's nice? Sitting at your desk and having the mail delivery guy hand you the CD you ordered.

In this case David J's On Glass so I could have "This Vicious Cabaret."

I do! There's some good local bands playing that night, too (Fivehead, Li'l Cap'n Travis), but I can see them any old time.

Oh yeah, I agree. I'm there. Well, if I get there early enough.

Hec - Hayden's mix arrived safe and sound. thanks. I forgot it at home today, though. So I haven't heard it yet.

Jon and Hayden - can you feel my intense waves of jealousy at having to pick which great band you are going to see night after night at SXSW beaming straight at you?

Looking at the list of bands playing at SXSW makes me very jealous and also makes me realize how funny band names are when listed alphabetically.

I found out today that a potential crush object is in a really horrible band. Like, really horrible. I can't crush on a guy in a horrible band. Bummer.

Finally - all three Diet Pepsis I have purchased since the iTunes promo started have been winners. I hope I'm not screwing up the odds for everybody else.

Is that you? I thought my neck was burning for a reason.
