We were just snarking at this the other night. You know, if you are part of a fellowship whose job is to tag along with the Ringbearer on his way to Mt. Doom, it might be a good idea to toss him across first, say, before the giant steps start to fall conveniently in the right direction.
'Beneath You'
LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".
Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".
A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.
Damn -- look what we missed:
El episodio de Miami Vice en donde aparece Viggo "Red Tape," será televisado en EEUU por el canal TNN en la mañana de abril 17. ¡Gracias a Dawn!
What about that pause? Y'know, when the Fellowship's in that big open cavern, and 30000 slimy things climb down the pillars and completely surround them, and sit there. For three minutes. Thinking '30000 of us, 9 of them, can we take them?'
It's only an editing glitch, but it messes with the suspension of disbelief, and that bugs.
Hey, you can tell Legolas was thinking "30,000 of them, one of me. I can take them!"
"30,000 of them, one of me. I can take them!"
"And that dwarf will totally think I'm hot."
Bwah!
Hey, you can tell Legolas was thinking "30,000 of them, one of me. I can take them!"
Hee! The Fellowship could so take them, but they'd probably lose a hobbit or two, and it might be the wrong hobbit. Plus, a balrog is come. That's gonna cost you at least an elflord.
From Torn interview with Matt Lasorsa, New Line Home Entertainment’s senior vice president of marketing about RotKEE:
Q: What additional scenes were added?
A: Like The Two Towers extended version, the story of Faramir is shown in greater detail. There are returning characters and new characters, such as Saruman after the flooding of Isengard and the Mouth of Sauron at the Black Gate. Much of the new footage contains extra dialogue and action to further elaborate on each character’s personal journey.
What I would love to see is Legolas hearing the gulls. Yes, it would involve a bit of explanation of the sea-longing of the Elves, but it would be so worth it to give him a bit of character development.
Well, that does sound like something that would "further elaborate" Legolas' personal journey.
