Awww. Just got weepy again.
Hayden just linked to this in movies for a totally different reason. Check out the music nominations. (Well and RotK is nominated for just about everything - but the music nomination is the one that made me weepy.)
Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".
A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.

Heh. Go, Pippin! Although I love "Into the West," I think they chose the better song for the nomination. After all, ItW is closing credits music, but "The Steward of Gondor" plays into the plot, characterization, etc., in a way that most movie songs never do.
Wow, finally get to the end of the thread and all I have to say right now is that yesterday I was driving behind a truck from a printing company called Shadow Fax.
I love Pippin's song. . . the other day I went and found it in FotR (you know -- the book) and well, it's a much happier jollier thing in the book.
Yet, I still love it.
It's one of Bilbo's songs, isn't it?
I think so -- sung before they've even left the Shire.
Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread,
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We'll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed.
There's more but it didn't show up in The Steward of Gondor. And the nomination, Yay Billy! That's my favorite track on the soundtrack.
I've been playing the RotK game on Playstation 2 and it's kicking my ass. I'm stuck on the Pelennor Fields.
I think I'm going to see RotK for the fourth time later this week. My sister and my mom haven't seen it yet and they want to. Must remember not to cry or I'll get teased mercilously.
I'm stuck on the Pelennor Fields.
Wait till morning. Some guys show up with a bunch of horses.
Was I the only one having a Hoth battle flashback during the fight against the big elephants, with riders of Rohan being the snowspeeders and the elephants the AT-ATs?
No. And Legolas totally did a Luke on that one big elephant with the one elf demolition job.
Love this picture of Aragorn and Anduril.
One of the TORN reports says that Royd Tolkien was one of the guys on beacon duty at Minas Tirith and that he was somewhere else too (can't remember where.)
