We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

We've been known to buy two copies of new Harry Potters to lessen marital bickering.
Have you thought about buying one and borrowing the second copy from the library? That way you still keep one when you both are done.

(btw I love the Harry Potter books!)

hip deep in pie

Has anyone read/is anyone reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell right now? I'm about 200 pages into it and enjoying it muchly.

Megan bought it for me for my birthday, and I just started it... I am only a few pages in, but I am really looking forward to it.

Well, the only way that would work when the goal is to read the book the instant it comes out would be if I were lucky enough to be one of the first twenty or so people to put it on hold. Takes a lot of luck with anything popular.

If I only had a brain...

Susan, I worried about that, too, but she turns out to be okay.

Oh, good. Though, between Sophie writing Jack that the baby seemed a little strange and Diana was drinking too much, and Diana writing Stephen not to expect too much, because the baby seemed rather stupid, that's a lot of foreshadowing for naught.

It's not for naught, by any means. There are stormy seas to navigate. A couple of novels' worth, I think.

You know there'll be a urine test at the door to check your testosterone level, right?

Wuh oh. I probably shouldn't watch Sex and the City before I go, huh.
