We're Literary 2: To Read Makes Our Speaking English Good

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Oh, I haven't read the article yet - my brain is jello (damned flu) and I marked it for later reading.

Just, in terms of a headline? Right out of The Onion.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

There's no slander involved, and she is a public figure.

That part has been thrown out. It has to do with her having used her name to sell an album at one time, and the fairly spurious claim that OutKast is getting on that bandwagon to Parks profit.

What annoys me about the article is the very careful writing as if to say the Supreme Court has approved of this suit, instead of the fact that they've merely rejected a hearing on the appeal.

Ha ha, I like the idea that there are people out there who would say to themselves "I sure do admire that civil rights hero Rosa Parks, oh look, here's a rap group with a song titled 'Rosa Parks', I think I'll buy their album!"

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

There are people out there who elected Arnold.

ION, books. I am for them.

Started another Laura Lippman, Book #2 in the series. I already read #3, so some b-line story stuff is ruined for me, but that's ok. I just like her so much. I gave my mom Book #1 to borrow and she is enjoying it.

I think they already do, but it depends on their condition.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Damn, I loved Trixie Belden. I wonder whatever happened to all the ones I had. I know I'll have to pick up the reissues, at least at the library, for nostalgia's sake.

I learned what a "chaffeuer" was from TB. Also hollyhocks and that "chic" is pronounced kinda like "shieik."

Oh, and how to suck the poison out of a snake bite, and how to get blueberry pie stains out of Mart's white shirt.

Thank, Trixie!

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I learned what "ennui" meant. And spent a few months trying to remember to say "Rabbit, rabbit" before I went to bed and when I woke up on the last day of each month.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

And spent a few months trying to remember to say "Rabbit, rabbit" before I went to bed and when I woke up on the last day of each month.

Me too! Although I never remembered, just like Trixie.
