"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Joss spoke about the Firefly movie in a SCI FI Wire article that I don't think I've seen linked here.

From it:

Whedon declined to say which of the series' many loose threads he would tie up in the movie. Some of those include the secret behind the Blue Sun Corp. and its interest in River (Summer Glau); the secret behind Shepherd Book's (Ron Glass) past; the unresolved romantic tension between Capt. Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) and Inara (Morena Baccarin); and the unresolved romantic tension between Simon (Sean Maher) and Kaylee (Jewel Stait).

Though there are some inaccuracies. For example, the reporter misspelled "Jayne" in that last sentence.

Tagline? What tagline?

I originally posted this bit of news in the wrong thread. I really should learn how to read one these days. I came across this link yesterday at the OB - Casting Sheet for the Movie. All sorts of goodies. All sorts of spoilery. Possibly legit.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Also, in case someone hasn't heard this already, apparently they're going to be filming a good chunk of the movie in NYC and upstate NY.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I would like to take a moment to t bounce about having had a reason to unsubscribe to this thread.

Off to the land of unspoiled for the (Big Damn) movie.

I've given in. I'm doing spoilers all the way for this.

Vince, I have no way of knowing whether that's legit or not; it looks good, though. If it is legit, I'm guessing that what Empire Online described as "a pair of passengers who bring trouble to the crew" are the Mingo and Fanty characters; though I could be wrong. My first thought when I read the EO article was "Simon and River" but "You're not going to bring people into a movie if you're explaining all the time what happened before," makes it sound like Joss wants to start with the Tams there. And it would be very classic Firefly for the passengers to be trouble.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Is it just me, or do the names "Mingo and Fanty" sound like they should belong to a pair of over-pampered Shih-Tzus?
