Fay, you put eloquently into words what I've felt but been largely unable to articulate. At least, not adequately. I don't think I ever loved a show so quickly, so completely: words, actors, sets, effects, music, and the sort of cohesion that happens rarely, the greater-than-sum-of-parts one takes the rumors of with a grain of salt, except when the result is up on the screen, or on the posting boards. I fell instantly for Firefly and never stopped wanting more!, only kept loving it deeper and wider, and am still bereft at its loss.
Cancellation was a shame. But I'm glad I got to see it. I'm glad I helped to try and keep it on the air. TV history was made--nobody's ready to admit it yet. But I think Firefly will be a benchmark, when economics roll back around to scripted shows, when the public is glutted with Survival of the Racing Bachelors clones and ready for crafted stories again.

Strawberry disappointment.
I downloaded the version of OiS that was shown in Murrica, but I didn't see any differences in the one shown last night here. I should really check the Murrican version again, not that that'll be a hardship or anything.
I loved to little tiny bits the scene with River and Mal at the end. I'm distraught to the amount of ten that this show is gone.
