Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I don't think it's all SMG, and everyone else at ME's shit smells like rosewater. I think that's pretty unfair. I didn't see the guest list of SMGs wedding. Was it family and close non-work friends? Hm. I wouldn't invite my boss and co-workers to my wedding. Did Alyson, Joss, James go to Nicholas Brendon's wedding? Sarah did, as did Michelle.

I don't know what the inner workings of ME are like. I don't work there. I just get a little pissy when one person gets shafted as the sole douchebag making everyone else miserable, when we just don't know.

Maybe Fury goes down to the set each day and beats the cast til they piss blood. Maybe Jane's gets off on leaving notes in SMG's locker that she's been looking a little chubby. Maybe the Property Manager mock stutters at Nick Brendon til he cries.

Maybe SMG rarely mixes her work life with her personal, or maybe Jeff Pruitt was right and Joss and Sarah team up to terrorize the whole crew and sabotaged a stunt to try and kill him.

Not our call to make on who, or why, it's tense or unfamily-like. How many of us would call our co-workers a happy family?

My old job, until they fired us all, but that's the exception.

Job's a job.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have and had agreed with you for a long time, Allyson, until scrappy said something, because she is close to Jane. So I feel that it does seem that ME feelings were hurt.

On the other hand, for all we know Joss is talking about working on Roseanne, and was only meaning to compliment Firefly and not backhand the rest of his shows.

Scrappy didn't bring up anything on the inside, and, I dunno if she's here, but I don't think Scrappy would bring up Jane's opinions, here. Scrappy was talking about invite lists from weddings.

And you know, Jane's opinions? Those are Jane's opinions. The other workers may see things differently than Jane does.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Assuming what scrappy said was true (and I see no reason not to), then it can support what Joss said. Now was Joss criticizing SMG? That's a whole different interpretation. He was criticizing one of his shows.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I just get a little pissy when one person gets shafted as the sole douchebag making everyone else miserable, when we just don't know.

I quite agree. And in truth, I've never heard anything about the set being "hellish" to work on for anyone, except maybe for that Freakylinks guy who came and went.

Maybe Fury goes down to the set each day and beats the cast til they piss blood.

Well, yeah. We expect that.

Not our call to make on who, or why, it's tense or unfamily-like. How many of us would call our co-workers a happy family?

I've worked in-office at four periodicals in the past few years. At the now defunct magazine I was managing editor for, we're all still good friends. At the weekly paper I worked for (and still work for periodically) we were all extremely close, and I consider them family. At the business magazine I worked at, things were hellish. And here? They're very pleasant and extremely efficient, but I'm not close to anyone, although I like everyone. So, yeah. A good working environemnt doesn't need to be warm-fuzzy-bestest-friends-forever to be good.

I think Joss is fortunate in that his cast doesn't talk about unfamily-like conditions of the crew, in interviews. Joss shouldn't have said that in an interview. It was a bad call. They've done a good job protecting people in the past, (Glenn) so I think maybe the guy was tired and didnt think before he spoke.

That did make me raise my eyebrows. I was impressed by Joss's lack of reluctance to be frank about the work he's done ... but the work he's doing?

Hey, didn't mean to start a big storm over here. I was being gossipy and a bitca, and thanks for calling me on it, Allyson. From the limited amount I know, the set is fine, just not close. Some actors love being on the show, some are itching to move on and that can make for some tension. I know the writers all (truly) LOVE working for ME and for Joss. There are some cast tensions, but after 7 years, it's to be expected--'cause actors? Cray-Zeee.

Plus--there are lots of shows where NO ONE, actors, writers, staff is enjoying themselves. None of the ME shows fall into that category.
