"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Used to be that a first-run airing of Buffy would pull people I hadn't heard from in months out of the woodwork to call me and chatter. Usually relatives, so I couldn't just tell them to piss off and hang up the phone.

First run airings of Buffy either got the phone turned off, or an incredibly brusque "New Buffy's on." ::click::

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Hah! Bit of dialogue from tonight's NCIS:

Caitlin: What did Ducky look like when he was younger?

Gibbs: Illya Kuryakin

Okay, Sean will laugh.

As it is, I'm waiting for Robert Vaughn to do a guest spot on NCIS.

That would be awesome.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

The Illya Kuryakin line cracked me up, especially as his predicament at the end was somewhat reminiscent of the kind of stuff that happened on Man from U.N.C.L.E.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Threads: Yeah, that was too much yentaing and dying in the service of a pairing I don't enjoy for me to really love it, and I didn't even get the payback of having them look, you know, pleased that Daniel wasn't dead. (Though Jack's rant at the beginning was funny.)

Fascinating Teal'c stuff, though. "Teal'c of the Tau'ri"?

Okay, Sean will laugh.

I laughed my ass off, even though I think the only Man from U.N.C.L.E. I've seen is in vids.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shrift! You need to watch it! It's great TV.
