And could they have kept Clark and Lex further apart without one of them crossing state lines? I mean, I know the show isn't officially about the HoYay, but it is supposed to be about how Clark and Lex went from best buddies to mortal enemies. You'd think there'd have to be, you know, interaction of some sort for that to happen. Hmph.

Yes. He told her when he was a teenager, the night he left home.
Back in '87 they used this to good effect by revealing that Lana was a Manhunter sleeper agent that knew Clark's identity and was prepared to use it against him. I thought it was the most effective of the Manhunter reveals. (Partially because it really was Lana, and not some robot duplicate as was the case with Commissioner Gordon and the Great God Pan!)

I really think they would have done better to have Wonder Woman's turncoat be Mindi Mayer, or someone at her agency, or maybe even one of the other amazons. As it is I'm left thinking "We've replaced one of the Greek Gods with Folger's CrystalsTM. Let's see if Athena notices."
