Okay, I watched my tape of Highlander "The Gathering" and now I'm thinking that they intended Richie to be an Immortal all along -- esp. after reading the synopses of the 2nd episode where he is searching for his "real" parents.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

It's never made clear on the show, and if I remember correctly it's one of those things that behind-the-scenes stories on differ. It's always seemed likely to me, though.

I always figured it was in the plan because of the way Duncan and Connor both respond to Richie in the pilot. It's definitely there.

Yeah, that's what I got -- that they sensed him before he was there and then Connor makes some comment about "watching the boy".
Now, I really don't get why my friend (who turned me onto both Highlander and Buffy) thinks that Richie becoming an Immortal was the Jump the Shark moment.

I am still at the moment dazed and glassy-eyed from shirtless, dirty and crazy Lex. I hardly even noticed what happened in the rest of the show. Guhhhh.

Actually, I wasn't as let down as I expected to be - except for the bits with Helen and Lionel. Sville can't do villians to save their lives. Super!Bo wasn't as craptacular as I expected. Besides squealing for almostnaked!Lex I also bounced up out of my chair for voice of Terance Stamp (I know he's been on the show before - but I re-watched the Limey recently and am in lurve with him). Also happy to see Classic!Drew in the credits at the end. (Executive Story Editor - like that means anything - but still.)
