Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

there had only been two Jack's-baseball-caps for the entire run of the show.

Oooh. I love his caps. The brims were so precisely curved. I've seen when guys love their caps, and I thought they were doing a really good job of making it look like a loved cap. Having only the two? Nice way to go about it.

I would love to read this article, if you remember where it was.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

It's here, but there are frame issues. Click on Stargate SG-1, Behind the Scenes under Special Features, then You've Got the Look.

Oh, bless you! Seems my hat love was not wasted. I mean, in except for the sense that ... yeah, it may be a little much.

We curve the brim. I curve it. He curves it as well. We both curve it, so it?s perrrfect! It takes a lot of, you know, just gentle pressure, because if you try and curve it too hard, it?ll crack. So you just keep working at it.

I hope there's hat in our future.

What is the best weapon in this application, is how the decision is made. I have to talk to the director of ?Icon?, because I?m not sure, at our battle zone next week, whether we?re going to be able to make SG teams arrive carrying P90s, or we may bump them up a bit to a heavier weapon, because it?s a full-on civil war that they?re coming into. We try to be as realistic as we can with the application.

Okay, that's really interesting, because what they did was give them NO weapons in Icon. They arrived with only sidearms, and it seemed very odd.

The business with the hat is funny. Specially made for RDA! Heee.

oh, to be an actor must be a very odd thing.

I have to believe that we'll get Jack offworld before the end of the season. I mean, really. It's Jack. SG-1 will get into trouble and he'll just have to go.

I assume they were talking about the combat team Sam led in at the end there, rather than SG-1. (Though I still agree with you that showing up completely unarmed at the beginning was unusual and perhaps unwise. Is that the only first contact situation we've seen them in this year? Because if so, is that indicating some sort of philosophical difference on Sam's part? Er, I mean, can we fanwank it to mean so?)

Heee.

I rather doubt it. But you're welcome to try.

Okay I've watched the first five episodes of Farscape S1. I'm not saying it's bad tv, but it's just not grabbing me. When do I get grabbed?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Later in Season 1.

Wasn't there a Farscape primer at some point during the campaign? Did it address questions like these, that generally come up with new viewers?

I think "DNA Mad Scientist" was probably the first really gripping episode of season one. It stays a bit hit or miss until the second half, when things get really good.
