Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

I can't even.

What do you propose to use instead? "lake-based presentation ritual"?

See, now this is nice. Gets the point across, without being so ... derogatory and argumentative. Kudos. Let's circulate for signatures and see if we can't run this by the upstairs folks.

Okay, now I'm talking like work in my fun. I really need to do some work, so I can maintain the lawful separation of work and snark.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

So, does anyone know what Ammonet's reasoning in sending the Harcesis to Kheb was?

I entertain myself by assuming she was working with Oma, who is actually a Bad Guy. A more serious fanwank is that she figured that at least none of the other goa'uld would go there.

Ra's host was from Earth, wasn't he?

There's a new LJ community called Crack_van which is all about pimping your fandom, or more precisely, the best of the fic in your fandom. And as part if it someone signs up to do a writeup of the fandom, with pictures and plot summaries, for folks who haven't seen the show.

Shaye did the writeup for Farscape. It made me die, it's so frelling funny.

There's also a really good overview of H:LOTS a few posts down, for those who, like me, only saw the last 3 years of the show.

On the Dr. Who front - anyone for ASH getting a role in there somewhere? The Master? The Doctor himself? Oh the possibilities.

Oh my God, Suela, you can't do that to me at work. HA!

Plus, this:

And the side of his face glows when he takes off the mask, which makes it no surprise that Zhaan dates him before she dies.

makes so much sense that I'm not sure she should be joking.

The Muppets will make you cry.

Bwahahahahaha! That was brilliant! I'm spoiled for the rest of season 4, but that seems to me to be a good thing.

Ah, that's right, Ken, it is completely spoilery. OTOH the overview is so quick that most of the specific plot twists will be new to you. If they ever get around to airing the last of the season...

All is well that ends in pizza.

Every time one of you folks mentions Methos, I get the mental image of some twenty year-old kid with a roll of candy in his hand and an obnoxious smirk on his face. Stop it!

That's Mentos, not Methos. You shouldn't besmirch the dignity of the oldest known immortal by confusing him with semi-soft anarchic candy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dignity? Don't besmirch his molten hotness.

I never have the problem of confusing Mentos with Methos.

One has those insanely annoying Mentos: The Freshmaker! commercials that, at times, have made me want to dive into the TV screen and kill with my bare hands.

Methos, on the other hand -- (wait, no, I want him on both hands) -- and, well, there are plenty of things I want to do to him with my bare hands...
