I printed the article ... hee, hee, can't wait to read it. Also?

Yikes. Sorry. I didn't mean to stir things up.

Hey, I'm the one who asked ... I should learn. "Kerfluffle? There was a Kerfluffle? What was it about? Huh? C'mon ... what????"

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have no idea how anyone can like Daniel better than Jack, so they're all smoking the long pipe.

Because Daniel is geeky, wears glasses, has an adorable smile which he breaks out from time to time, and doesn't have that irritating flippancy.

I mean, I like Jack. Don't get me wrong. But a lot of the reason is RDA appeal, instead of Jack.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't tell the difference between RDA appeal and Jack appeal, since McGyver reduces me to fits of giggles. I just can't do the show.

Jack does smile, and his flippancy is hiding his wounded core. He's total TheWoobie. He's just not flashy, like Daniel.

He may not have glasses, but he has tuques.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

For me, a lot of the appeal Jack and Daniel has a lot to do with the way they interact with each other.

He'd laugh at you if you mentioned "wounded core" in his presence.

Plus, why is he wounded? Charlie's death, yeah, but he seems to be dealing with that at this point.

Daniel gets whomped on way more.

Well of course. Because he's emotionally unavailable.

He reminds me tangentially of Michael from LFN. Except he's never getting the sort of nekkid cavorting with his woman that Micky did.

Just that he's in authority, he's emotionally unavailable, but in as much love as that allows.

And willing to not do a thing about it.

I like Daniel -- don't get me wrong. But I like everyone more when they're interacting with Jack. He's a strange, strange mix, that man.

cops to geek charge

Mmmmmm, Jack.

What I like about Jack is that he's a career military guy, hardened Special Ops soldier, etc. who quite frequently acts like he's about twelve.

being orphaned at a young age when his parents were crushed under a museum display (no, really),

Very nearly spewed Irish Breakfast all over my keyboard at that. Too frelling funny.

He does! He's very entertaining, but doesn't ping my radar. None of the SG-1 team does, actually.
