Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh crap. I only have the punchline:

"Open your mind here, dad. This isn't me we're talking about. With Ryan here we have a chance to have a real athlete in the family. Somebody to achieve all that your jewishness has provented me from accomplishing. Hey! I always wanted to play soccer."

I just re-watched that ep last night (uhm me obsessive about the O.C.- no, not at all) - and still my mind can't recall the lines exactly. There's another part of Seth's line in there about them being able to have a real athlete in the family finally.

Thanks for the GG link, lori. No sight of Jane's next ep there either. hmph.

edit: d'oh. x-post.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Ooh, thank you, Kat -- that's the part I most wanted anyway!

a companion line that totally fits with it from an earlier episode is:

You're a Cohen now. Welcome to the world of insecurity and paralyzing self-doubt.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Very occasionally, Magneto used to have mind-control powers, so it kinda sorta fits.

Religion isn't the cause of wars. It's the excuse. - Christopher Brookmyre

When did Magneto have mind control powers?

It's been so long now that I'm not being able to recall it correctly -- IIRC one of his lesser appearances in, hmm, Fantastic Four? At any rate, Fred Hembeck referenced it in his spoof of the FF wedding, where the X-Men (old classic version) show up, insult everybody at the roast, then claim to have been mind-controlled by Magneto. For a while among my group of fans, "Mind-controlled by Magneto" was the standard excuse if you'd done an even slightly stupid thing. :-)
