Here's a cool bit that I've never seen used in sex writing: When it's fully engorged and the head is purple-y, and you're lying on your back you can see the tip of the head bob ever-so-slightly with each pulse.

Also, writers rarely use the balls drawing up tighter to indicate high excitement - but that's an indicater too.

I note that in the good fanfic, I can find examples of both of those. Thank goodness for the good stuff, it gives one faith in fanfic, not to mention humanity and world peace.
