Oh my god, Megan! Ack! I'm glad that things are improving, though. I'm feeling a ridiculous sense of guilt for not having somehow diagnosed you when you showed us your poor ear. Apparently I believe that I should know everything.
Be well.
[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

I said to the doctor in Ottawa "Well it only took 3 doctors to diagnose me!"
And he said "Well all I have to do is look at your ear and your face and I look like a freaking genius!"
maybe we should start a study group for strange medical illnesses that we might be afflicted by.

Yes! We'll become our own experts. Sure it will take up a bit of time, but think of all the hypochondriachal fun we can have!
Say, where's the torrential downpour we were supposed to be having? Did I buy groceries on the way to work for no reason? Hmph.

I was awake at 5:00 this morning and the wind was just howling outside the window. i got up to look outside expecting to see snow or at least rain. Brent was awake and he said "What's it doing out there?" I responded with "it's all blow and no show." which I thought was quite clever for 5am.

As you may know, I am dating a Canadian. She's going home to Ottawa for the Holidays and I'm joining her on Boxing Day. Or at least I thought I was. Today, I was about to forward her my arriving flight details when I noticed that my plane arrived on Dec. 27, not 26. We're returning together on Dec. 31, and were planning to visit Montreal Dec. 28-30, so losing that day was significant. I have no idea how I managed to not notice until now.
Anyhoo, I figured, what the heck, lets see what changing my flight will cost (and if it's even possible). I logged into AirCanada's web site made the change, and the total cost was.... $23.28!!! Perhaps this doesn't surprise you, but on an American airline, there would be a $75 change fee on top of any difference in airfare, which would be significant since booking a flight a few days before departure is always very expensive.
I made the change.
$23.28!!! No wonder AirCanada is going bankrupt.

Did they apologize to you for the cost? That's the Canadian way!
I was in Ottawa last week. Bundle up! It was -22C. It's a beautiful city though so you'll have a great time.
Anyone know if Rideau Canal is open for skating yet? This website hasn't been updated since Dec. 10.
When I was there last week it wasn't open yet since the canal wasn't quite frozen yet. It was -40C there yesterday so it probably is good and solid now!

I thought they were going bankrupt from it costing $500 to fly every/anywhere and the customer service that incites one to ultraviolence, but maybe that's just my each and every experience.

Allow me to reiterate the bundling suggestion. Second coldest national capital on Sol III. Especially down by the Rideau, although that's usually for Winterlude in February. It's probably a balmy -17C in Ottawa this week since the cold snap uh, snapped. [Just checked weathernetwork.com for the Siberawa temps]
I didn't know FAQ Girl was Canadian. We probably know her, y'know.
