Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I see that Space is having a Victoria Day Angel Marathon, which is also the day of the finale, yes?

If no-one else is in ahead of me, I'm planning on having a party that day, starting in the afternoon. I'll be finished with the actuarial exam by then.

In other news, I am sick. Bleargh. It hit me suddenly yesterday evening, and I could hardly sleep at all. I gave up at 3:30 and just got up. I'm going to be feeling very odd tomorrow.

Ouise, B and I were planning to have an Angel party/BBQ/Housewarming on the 24th. I was just about to send out an email about it (albeit tardy), but I don't want to step on your toes. Shall we flip for it? (I'd be happy to have your friends come over to our place.) =)

I don't want to step on toes either! I haven't actually gotten to the point of planning, so go ahead.

I'm mis-using one of the library search stations right now -- my computer's in the shop (although the guy says it's working fine there, the ornery creature). I'll try to check every couple of days, but don't think I'm being rude if I take a while to answer emails (or if I seem to ignore posts here).

Ug. Kinda crap makes me wish I didn't like wrestling. Friggin' backyard gargage shows.

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

So does the fact there's been no discussion of this week's Angel in here mean that everyone was as underwhelmed as I was by it?

Wes/Illyria/fake!Fred was good, but its extra-bitter tone didn't mesh well with the jokey Rome stuff. And the cheesy mock-Italian just annoyed me, though I did like the head of WR&H. "They are filthy people - pah! We shall speak no more of them."

I'm a little worried now... "Origins" was fabulous, but the last two episodes have been more stand-alone than I would expect at the end of a regular season, never mind the last one.

Oh well. I'm avoiding spoilers for the next episode, but I suppose the fact that the post counts are going up rapidly in the Angel thread and people are squeeing over it on LJ is a good sign. I shall try to Trust in Joss/Fury/etc.

Opinions in the Angel thread were all over the map. Some were incensed that there was a throwaway this close to the end, some were meh, for much the same reason, and some thought it the funniest thing since Smile Time. I don't think anyone thought it was good that the ep came at this point in the season, but I may be mis-remembering.

Pretty much universal acclaim for the Wes/Illyria/Burkles bits, and for the brief flashback to Spike and Dru in the 50's.

Dani, I got a long distance phone call about 20 minutes in, and so I taped it on the second airing. (I was watching the second airing from the hall...in that I was on my computer and looking down my hall to the TV, but not really paying attention.) I think it's telling that I haven't bothered to watch it yet.

Thanks for the Buffista Coles Notes, Frankenbuddha!

t boggle Smile Time was HI-larious. Last night was just eh.

I don't even go into the Angel thread anymore; catching up on a week of posts is too hard, and by the time I get to the end everything I want to say has been said (better) already. I suppose I'll threadsuck & save it to read after the finale.

ETA: Dan was out on Monday night, Sue & so I taped it to watch with him on Tuesday night. [I never did get my toaster for converting him, a Buffy-hater, to Angel.] We watched it right away (even before the illicit Sopranos tape we got from friends) but I certainly didn't feel inspired to post about it.
