Buffy: You tossed that vamp like he was a... little teeny vamp. Riley: You wanna go again? C'mon. I bet this place is just teeming with aerodynamic vampires.

Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

I can't even.

I miss the Chinese Laundry Cafe - didn't know it went out of business either - when did that happen?

Around 98, I think. I hadn't been in Kingston in several years and friends told me it was gone. The people who owned were done (they'd been running the place 15 years or so) and sold up. There is a restaurant/deli there now, called Epicure, with a similar style, but not quite the same.

I'm made of felt and my....hey, who's hand is that?

That's really too bad. I left in 96. Glad I had the op to experience the place. I heard some of the used book stores on Princess Street had closed up too...

Hey Raffi! *haha* You're up!

Yep, most of them are gone. Still a few left, but only one independent new bookseller, A Novel Idea. The only other places to get new books are Chapters and Indigo. Not that I mind them terribly, but it is a real change for Kingston (and I do prefer the independents when I can get them).

That was my favourite place to hang out while waiting for Rafmun to finish with his classes. I'd find a new book and then have a coffee or 4 at the Smiling Goat.

Edit: I mean Sleepless Goat. Smiling Goat was on Ed.

I did that very thing this past October when I was in town for a conference and waiting for one of my pals who works at the university.

ETA: There's a Grey Goat pub in Newmarket where I used to live (that Glass Tiger hung out in). All the Goat talk has me thirsty, and by that I mean beer.
