That happened to me just now...though only one leg, thigh high. I knew that I was going to sink because you could see where other people had sunk, but I didn't feel like walking all the way back and trying my luck on the street, and I knew the sidewalk on the other side was clear.

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!
Should I laugh, or just make promises of help I can't possibly keep?
Options, options. Maybe I'll just take my moderately swank number and shine it up a bit.
Has anyone been plowed out yet? The side street that I can see from my window is still unplowed. My friend's in Fall River are all plowed out though!
We're plowed out.
Joe has no milk.
Since we leave on Thursday, do we want milk?
We've been using ice-cream in our coffee. Works nicely.
What's this about the driving/walking between 11pm-7am ban?
They had a curfew last night to keep people off the road so they wouldn't get in the way of plows. I don't know if they are doing it tonight. Just read on the Halifax website that there are no buses until Monday.
I went to the grocery store. The dairy section only had buttermilk and cream left. So I went to the health food seciton where there was lots of organic milk...for a price. But I buy sometimes anyway. So yay! Milk! I bought stuff to make veggie chilli though the fresh produce pickins' were slim. Had to buy organic mushrooms because the regular ones looked scary. But now I have milk and peanut butter again. That could sustain me for days.
I woke up this morning and the first thing I saw was my cats sitting on my armchair looking up and out the window. (I think a bird must have flown onto the roof.) One was sitting on the arm, one on the back. They were perfectly posed. I snuck out of bed as quietly as I could and grabbed my camera. I took a bunch of shots trying to get a god exposure. If it turns out, it will be an amazing picture I think.
Oddest thing. Megan and I walked down Spring Garden to get emergency supplies from SD, and at the corner where Rogue's Roost is, we were waiting for the light, and I was leaning on the "don't walk" sign.... That was just the compressed snow/trail along an unshoveled sidewalk elevating us about 4-6 feet higher than normal. Was an interesting perspective.
Walking through all the canyons of snow, I feel vaguely as if I should be targetting womprats or something...
It feels like I am in the maze with the minotaur to me.
Is there much open downtown? I heard Park Lane is open.
from the NS Gov't Website:
However, with more snow predicted, Nova Scotians can use theopportunity today, Feb. 21, to obtain the necessary supplies they may need, where it is safe to do so.
Jo just told me that they are predicted 10 more cms today and 20 more tomorrow.
Hey all! We ended up sheltering a friend of mine who went in to work Thursday morning (she left before the announcement). She was here until this morning - I ended up doing a lot of gluten-free cooking (she's the friend with all the allergies).
Yesterday we went to the corner store behind my building so we could have bacon and eggs. I fell down on the way back -- luckily my friend was carrying the eggs. My feet just flew out from under me. I hit my elbow and got the annoying kind of "bruise" that hurts but looks completely normal, so I can't even get sympathy. It's very sad.
Ouch, 'Ouise! I hope your elbow feels better.
They imposed a curfew again tonight, starting at 10PM.
J's friend in Quebec told her that he heard on the news that public employees in Halifax may have Monday off too. Now I've got my hopes up!!
