'Objects In Space'

Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

I'm too excited about having the day off to sleep!

A. left me a message when I was online earlier. I tried to call her back, but it was busy. Maybe she's taken the phone off the hook!

I can't even.

Congrats on the snow day, Haligonians!

There is a winter storm watch in effect for here tomorrow, this means we'll get a dusting. Actually, although I mock, it is supposed to be freezing rain, which does suck if you are trying to commute through it.

Thanks for all the fish.

I am amazed that the hype has been lived up to.

Brian is shovelling.

I am not going to work.

I sincerely do not believe that the French in Canada were ever treated as badly as blacks in the US (or, for that matter, in Canada).

My cable is knocked out.

I just got up from a nap. This was my thought process as I was lying there:

"This duvet is so cozy"
"I am so comfy."
"God I love my bed."
"Beds are the best thing ever!"
"Whoever invented the bed deserves a medal."
"Soooo cosy."

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

Bundle up and stay warm, Haligonistas!

Sue, your post made me weep with envy. I figure the next time I get a chance to sleep late will be in, oh, twelve years or so.

I'm made of felt and my....hey, who's hand is that?

Scary moving discovery. Each shelf of books fills about 2 boxes (the kind you get from the liquour store). In total, we have 31 shelves of books.

Egads.

There's a truck outside in our parking lot that is almost completely buried by snow. I tried to get out on the deck to take a picture, but the snow is piled about 18 inches up our deck door, and deeper still in spots near the edge of the balcony. No go with the pic.

Aw, Dani. Everyone should have a cosy lie-in once in a while. Maybe you'll have lazy children!!

Such is the curse of the reader. You could get rid of some...

Rafmun, the drift against my back door is probably about armpit high. I don't expect to be using that door anytime soon.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

(probably latent American hatred of all things Freedom...erm...French, post Iraq),

Oh, that was mostly made up by loudmouth neocons, a few rednecks joined in. It was never very widespread in any practical way.

Conan spent the whole week doing "Canadian things". I suspect he and his staff just stepped in it as far as doing one that was an actual sensitive topic.

Jumpin' Jimminy!

Weather network just reported Halifax at 58cm, with 20-25cm more expected yet.

Tomorrow, however, is supposed to be sunny - should be a might pretty outside if we don't get any freezing rain b/w now and then...which apparently is a possibility.

I wonder if that's at Shearwater or at the Airport, because the Airport usually gets more snow than the city. It does look like a lot of snow, but it's so hard to say since it's so blowy. I can still see patches of sidewalk outside of my house.
