Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

hip deep in pie

I just can't get into it this year. Probably because I'm not really discussing it.

I kind of feel the same. I jsut don't get swept up in the excitement of a new episode like I used to...

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

It's the lack of taunting, don't kid yourselves.

I believe vampires are the world's greatest golfers

Yeah, I've never discussed Angel much on this board - since I was at least 3 days behind everyone else in watching it, by the time I got caught up on the thread all the comments I'd thought of had already been made.

Ouise, I've been on the lookout for a good sticky bun recipe - would you share yours?

I love to bake, and with time off work I've been doing way too much of it. I made chocolate cake & apple crisp last week, yesterday I baked French bread and today I made peach muffins. If this baby doesn't come soon Dan & I are going to put on a ton of weight...

Thanks for all the fish.

Sigh - yeah, I'll watch tonight. But I'm not sure that I'll bother watching last week.

IMHO, You didn't miss much last week.

Thanks for all the fish.

As is my understanding of the show. Once I was told that Lindsey wasn't in it, really no point in watching.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Ouise, I've been on the lookout for a good sticky bun recipe - would you share yours?

Sure, although they are really more like cinnamon buns:

Dissolve 2 tsp yeast in 3 tbsp warm water.
Add 1 cup warmed milk or water
5 Tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil
1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg

Mix well. Beat in 2 cups flour. Gradually add 1 to 1.5 cups more flour.
Knead (by hand or machine) until smooth and elastic. Dough should be soft but not sticky.

Put it back in a bowl and leave in a warm-ish place to rise for 1.5 hours.
Roll dough out into a large rectangle. Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 or 2 tsp cinnamon. Sprinkle over the dough, going right to the edges.
Roll up lengthwise if you want lots of small buns, widthwise if you want fewer larger ones. Cut into slices between 2 & 3 cm thick, and space out in a baking pan. Cover, put in a warm place and let rise for an hour.

Pre-heat the oven to 350F and bake for about 30 mins.
Mix together 1/2c icing sugar, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 Tbsp water.
Drizzle it over the pan of buns.

Yum! I just emailed that to myself at home.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you like Harmony, or think you can be won over to Harmony, have a look at last week's. It was pretty funny, but all Harm all the time. Didn't contain any arcy elements, as far as I can tell.

Thanks for all the fish.

Well, I'm all about Lindsey. It's the only thing that's keeping me remotely interested thus far.
