Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

Thanks for all the fish.

So do I. Damn, this is not the way I wanted to start my day.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

pipe-ma to you, Elena!

I'm really looking forward to the temperature going up above -5C this weekend. That will feel nice.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, gentle warmth to you, Elena.

Thanks for all the fish.

WOO!

The water is running! And there seem to be no broken pipes!

Brian used the blow dryer on the cold water split-off and now we have flow!

WOO!

I can bathe!

Hi y'all...delurking to say how happy I am that it seems I did not miss new Angel last week! I too have to watch it on Space, but I was away last week and hadn't got organized enough to set up the VCR. But I wasn't sure if I'd missed the new ep last week or not. Something to look forward to this week!

And to intruduce myself - I am not currently an Atlantic Canadian, but was born and raised in Northern New Brunswick. I now live in Yellowknife.

So all this talk of cold...yeah. I feel your pain. Because the thing about living in YK is that at least you know the cold is coming, and cars/houses/clothing are designed to handle it. My car, in addition to having a block heater, has something called a battery blanket. I'd never heard of it before moving up here.

Not sure how often I'll post, but I've been reading along for a while (this is a thread I can actually keep up in, unlike that insane Natter place), so thought I should say hi.

Thanks for all the fish.

Hi Sophie! And, really, growing up in Northern New Brunswick you'd have seen your share of hideous weather.

I spent my high school years in Saskatchewan, so I understand cold.

"Let that which does not matter, truly slide." Fight Club

Hi, I want to introduce myself as well. I've been reading this board and enjoying it, along with Firefly and Angel and LotR of course. I am born and bred Nova Scotian, and so glad that today the cold snap ended. Hope it stays this way for awhile.

Thanks for all the fish.

Hi, Olivya. Where are you now?

Hi Elena. I live in Halifax and am recently married! Both of us, yes my hubby supports my addiction to Joss, love Buffy (though I started watching in season 6-- did download all the episodes though and devoured past 5 seasons), and we loved Firefly from the premiere. Was extremely disappointed when it was cancelled, and am trying to find a store that carries the Firefly DVD set. Am thinking probably FutureShop in Bayers Lake.

I've been reading Buffistas for about a year now; totally amazed at the insights people post. I finally got the courage to post *smiles*.
