Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

Elena, the librarian here lives in your nabe, and her power went the same way. Where was the fire?

Do you have cable? Mine was out last night, and I forgot to check this morning. Can someone tape Angel for me, just in case it's not back on?

Point Pleasant Park is so sad.

Thanks for all the fish.

I don't know if I have cable. If I do I will tape Angel. Oh, maybe not, we're going out to supper.

The fire was on the power line by our house. Which is exactly what happened on Sunday night, right before the transformer exploded.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

We have cable. Unfortunately we also have a CSI/Angel conflict. Since Angel is repeated on Monday, we normally tape it then. We're willing to tape Angel tonight if nobody else here has cable, but if one of you does have cable, let us know so we don't have to. Also, anybody who'd like to come over tonight to watch it is welcome. It could be a post-hurricane premiere party! Anyone who's interested, let me know here. My hotmail account is not accessible, but I can also be contacted by my chebucto address, the haligonistas list or by phone.

'Ouise, I can't come over tonight, as I promised to be a showering/ hot dinner place for a couple of people. Thanks for offering though.

But if your taping it on Monday, I may ask to borrow the tape, depending on the cable situation.

We'll definitely have a tape by Monday, which we'd be happy to loan out. If nobody else has cable today, we'll tape it tonight. (Nora says she really doesn't mind.)

Thanks for all the fish.

Don't do it for my sake, Ouise. I don't know if I have cable, but I also don't really care about seeing Angel tonight.

I'll be fine too 'Ouise.

Mecha, you missed the apocalypse. And, also, an all day barbeque as we cooked off the contents of our freezer.

DJEEEEEET!

(The patented Newman noise of Ultimate Frustration.) The only thing I get out of this is I emailed the family and said 'Now if I'd stayed in Hali like you wanted, I'da been in the middle of that. See?'

Ok, we'll be taping on Monday, after which the tape will be free for loaning.

I am in Calgary at a conference. *waves* I'm sitting in the business centre of the hotel trying to write my eulogy for my grandmother's funeral. Man, it's tough!

Glad to hear that you guys are getting your lives back to normal. I hope Brent remembers to tape Angel for me.
